Facial Acupuncture Versus Microneedling!

One of the frequently asked questions our patients asked:

What is the difference between Facial acupuncture and Micro needling?

Facial Acupuncture and Micro-needling are both very safe, natural, effective, and holistic alternative to treat skin conditions. The results are long term, and the recovery time is minimal. This cost effective, non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatments target a diverse range of skin concerns.

Micro Needling is derived from ancient acupuncture and mesotherapy. Just like facial acupuncture treatment, in my clinic, micro needling begins with body Acupuncture to relax the mind, balance hormones, diffuse digestive discomfort and increase blood production and flow.

I usually recommend Facial Acupuncture to those who wants to:

  • Strengthen their facial muscle tone, giving a lifting effect.

  • Relieve tension in facial muscles.

  • Increase acne healing rate

  • Relieve from TMJ pains.

  • Improve stress levels and relax the mind, facial acupuncture is usually very relaxing compared to micro needling (micro needling can be a little uncomfortable, but topical numbing cream will be used for any micro needling treatments)

Every acupuncturist has their own technique, with my technique, I only use about 20-25 facial needles, as I only stimulate specific points of each facial muscle to reset this muscle for

regeneration, the result is usually not visible after the first visit, but it is very cumulative in nature. New patients usually notice a visible glow after their first facial acupuncture.

These tiny pins also create micro-traumas in the skin that promotes collagen and elastin production as well as increase the healing rate of the skin in the specifically needled areas. .

I usually recommend Micro Needling to those who have visible appearance of any skin concerns on dermis and epidermis such as UV rays damage, Hyperpigmentation, age spots, deep expression lines, laxity, and dullness.

During the treatment, the micro needling device is gently glided over the skin while tiny punctures are created within the epidermis and dermis that encourage the skin’s own natural healing response, leading to the production of collagen and elastin.

In our clinic, we use the most advanced Micro Needling device available, the Dermapen Dp4.

Dp4 delivers the ultimate in advanced micro needling treatments and can create an impressive 1920 microchannels per second and is up to 104% faster than any other micro needling device on the market.

Conditions effectively treated and managed by a DP4 Dermapen:

  • Collagen Induction Therapy

  • Ultraviolet Damage, Hyper and Hypopigmentation

  • Vitiligo

  • Mild Rosacea

  • Seborrhoea

  • Acne, Problematic Skin

  • Milia

  • Enlarged/Dilated pores

  • Scarring

  • Striae

  • Alopecia

A lot of my patients combined these two treatments together as part of their monthly self-care, skin care regimen. They book the treatments alternately per month.
